Best Places to Shop Secondhand in Pittsburgh

By: Karley Wiedenhofer // @Threadsandthrive1

We LOVE a good thrift! Not only is it good for our bank accounts, but also for Mother Earth. It is also a great feeling knowing that you won’t catch anyone else dressed like you. I’ve been shopping secondhand for years because we didn’t have much money growing up. I didn’t appreciate it back then nearly as much as I do now. These days, I am shopping secondhand because I want to. Some of my favorite pieces ever were actually thrifted. In this post, I want to highlight some of the BEST places to shop secondhand in Pittsburgh. Let’s get started!

1. Buffalo Exchange-Southside

If you’ve never been to Buffalo Exchange, you need to go! I like to think of this place as a way cooler Plato’s Closet. They have unique, vintage stuff and even new, trendy pieces all at a much more reasonable price. What I really like about Buffalo Exchange is that they perfectly curate their clothing selection and the pieces they buy back from customers to maintain their whole brand.

2. Highway Robbery-Southside

I’ve loved Highway Robbery ever since the first time I ever shopped there! They have some serious vintage fashion. One of my favorite things about Highway Robbery is all of their graphic tees. They have some really dope, original tees that you’ll never see anyone else wearing! Expect to pay a little more here!

3. Clothes Minded- Bloomfield

Clothes Minded buys, sells and trades current and vintage clothing. They have everything from shoes to designer handbags!

4. Red, White & Blue-Bellevue

Red, White & Blue is probably my favorite thrift store! This place is huge. It can be a little overwhelming so I recommend going in with a plan. Think of the top three things you’re looking for and search for those! It’s never hard to find a throwback sports crewneck here, which I love.

5. KVAULT-Online

The BEST place for some cool, vintage sportswear. The vibes are very early 2000s. If you’re someone who has a hard time finding things they like when thrifting, I definitely recommend you check KVAULT out. She has the coolest, most unique pieces for sale, ALWAYS. This is definitely a hidden gem! You can find her handle @kvaultbrand on Instagram.

Happy thrifting everyone!!
