A new year means a new you! If you’re anything like me, January calls for planning out new goals and new experiences. One of my goals for 2020 is to fuel my body with healthy and delicious food. If you have a similar goal, you’re going to want to read on.
Pittsburgh is known for its unique food scene, but many people overlook the tiny spots that provide healthy options. People seem to stray from healthy food because it “tends to lack taste or substance,” but here are 5 of my favorite healthy hot spots in Pittsburgh that are down right delicious.
- Reed & Co. (Lawrenceville)
If you’re searching for fast nutritious options for lunch, Reed & Co. is the spot! Reed & Co. offers prepared salads, fresh juices and healthy snacks conveniently ready for anyone on the go. The owner is extremely friendly and helpful when it comes time to order from the extensive menu. Unsure what to get? Try out some samples! I recommend the Green Dream juice…perfect for a healthy and happy immune system!

- Clean Juice Pittsburgh (East Liberty)
Clean Juice has over 80 locations in 23 states, and lucky for us we have one located in our city! Clean Juice offers an assortment of juices, smoothies and small bites to customers for a very reasonable price. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, so if you’re looking for something specific make sure you ask. They have different juices/smoothies for inflammation, headaches, fatigue, etc. I recommend an acai bowl because they are packed full of nutrients and antioxidants.

- Honeygrow (East Liberty)
Also located in East Liberty, Honeygrow is a fast-casual chain focused on locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. I am a huge fan of stir fry, so this place is right up my alley. They have customizable options, so you’re able to get exactly want you want!

- Salud Juicery (Multiple Locations)
Salud Juicery has multiple locations around Pittsburgh including Oakland, Oakmont, Sewickley, Shadyside and Southpointe. They specialize in juices, smoothies, health shots and bowls. If you are looking for a detox to rejuvenate your body, Salud Juicery offers juice cleanses that even come packaged in a thermal soft cooler!

- Earth Inspired Salads (Market Square)
Earth Inspired Salads was named one of “The Best Lunch Spots in the Burgh” this year and it’s easy to understand why! You can order from their menu or make your own for a very reasonable price. Don’t worry if you’re not a fan of salads, they have plenty of other options too. One of my favorites is the Southwest Avocado Toast.

Hopefully this list of cafes and restaurants helps you reach your goals of a healthier lifestyle! Let me know your favorite healthy spots around the Burgh in the comments below. Thanks for reading!
